Shisukon Ouji- Prince Shisukon

Shisukon Ouji, or Prince Shisukon, was a 15 episode puppet series based on a one volume manga by the co-creator of Doraemon. It has no home media release, but the first episode was aired in a 2014 screening. The series was a major failure and cut short for this reason. The series was paid for by the sponsor of the series, Shisukon Confectionery (now Nissin Cisco), and the main character was named after the Shisukon Cornflakes.

0-Sen Hayato- Zero-sen Hayato

The 4 volume manga based 0-sen Hayato or Zero-Sen Hayato, was the first anime from P Productions and ran for 39 episodes. The pilot episode has been found on betamax, but the rest of the episodes have been lost. P Productions is better known for Tokusatsu, and has not made anything since 2006, so the chances of the rest of this series being released or found is slim. 

 

That's a shame because the premise is a classic shonen rival one that would appeal to a number of people even in this Reiwa period. Our protagonist Hayato is trying to avenge his father who was shot down by an enemy pilot who he encountered multiple times in the series.

Not only do we have vengeance, Hayato has a more serious rival within his air squad, and in the one episode, the two of them have a late night stolen plane excursion. Should they be court-martialed? Probably, but the dynamic between these two feels as fresh as every other shonen rivalry. So what I'm saying is if you want to see some classic bl, this isn't that, but if you strap on the fujo goggles, it could be. Or if you like war planes.
